Lincotek among businesses recognized at the ‘Best Managed Companies Award’ 2021

For the second year in a row, Lincotek has been named among the 74 winners of the “Best Managed Companies” award now in its fourth year. Organized by Deloitte Private, it also has the support of ALTIS Università Cattolica, ELITE – the program of the London Stock Exchange Group to support high-potential business growth – and Confindustria. The prize is designed to support and reward Italian companies that excel in organizational skills, strategy and performance.

Deloitte made their judgment based on six criteria:

  • Strategy
  • Competence and Innovation
  • Corporate Social Responsibility
  • Commitment and Corporate Culture
  • Governance and Performance Measurement
  • Internationalization and Sustainability

The companies recognized in this fourth set of awards have shown a great ability and resilience in dealing with the crisis caused by the COVID-19 pandemic. While the majority of the Italian companies saw a decline in revenue in 2020, the awarded companies improved their performances.

The Best Managed Companies, who received the accolade, perfectly reflect the new requirements of the NextGenerationEU recovery plan, with a huge investment in technology that gives them the ability to stay competitive and sustainable through innovation.

With a good balance between small and medium-sized businesses (54%) and large organizations (46%), 40% of the winners come from the North-West of Italy, 32% from the North East and 15% from the central belt. The South of the country accounts for 13% of the awards.  Some 43% of the companies are family owned, while 14% involve private equity funds and six are listed companies.

The winners have posted an average revenue growth of 14.4% from FY19/FY20, with the main sectors represented being Industrial Products and Construction (29%), followed by Consumer Products (26%), Technology (11%), Energy (8%), Retail (7%), Healthcare (3%) and Oil & Gas (3%). The remaining 13% belongs to other miscellaneous sectors.

The revenue growth is not, however, a critical driver in the awards. Product and service excellence, customer relationship management, corporate culture and training for employees are all important, along with the promotion of innovation, technology investment and a structured strategy.

The Best Managed Companies is not only an award, but also a growth program with an international dimension that recognizes excellence in privately held companies across more than 35 countries worldwide.
